Look of the Day!

A wonderful summer activity is spending the day sailing or boating. Dressing for such a day can get a little tricky. I always think it is smart to dress a bit warm and bring along a bathing suit or have it on underneath. The bathing suit I have chosen would work well because it doesn't have any frills that could make it feel funny when worn under clothes. It may be a hot day, but once you get moving, the wind can sometimes be a bit chilly! And of course you must bring a bag large enough to carry everything you usually have with you as well as a change of undies or your swim suit if you plan to change into it. Here is a great outfit that is practical for the occasion, but very stylish as well! Should you be docking anywhere or stepping into any restaurants, you are dressed for that occasion as well! Some must haves for your day: Sunblock, lip balm, hair brush or comb, and a hair tie. Enjoy!

Rocker Chic!

As per a request from one of my readers, I have put together a look inspired by Rock and Roll. But I put a sexy spin on it. Nothing says "Rock" like a sexy black shirt and some sexy red heels. This outfit is front row worthy! I love the accessories here. I feel like they really jazz up the outfit! If you are attending a show and anticipate that you will be mostly standing, you can exchange the shoes shown for some wedges or flats. But try to find some with a little color.

Pulling off Leggings

Not everyone can pull off the leggings trend. And many want to, but don't know how! Well there are so many cute tunics in most stores right now, and most of those tunics would pair well with leggings. It might just be a matter of taking some time and trying on a variety of different combos to see what will work for you. Here is a great combo I have thrown together for spring. And the tunic will last you through summer as well! With this outfit I went for the boho chic/ Mary-Kate Olsen look. If you want to try this outfit for summer, replace the boots for some cute flip flops!

Summer Fun and Work Appropriate! For woman of all sizes!

A few days ago, one of the readers of I Wore It Better, Sara, left this comment suggestion:

"I would love to know how to put together a nice outfit for work. I would like to wear a nice pair of gladiator sandals, or any pair of cute sandals, with a dress. It has to have some sort of cover up for the arms though. I always have an issue putting together something like this for work. I would appreciate the help. Also, I am a size 14, so I would need a "plus size". Up for the challenge?"

I took Sara's suggestion to put together todays Look of the Day. While I did not go for gladiators for this dress, that doesn't mean you can't dress a pair up for work. If you do decide to go with gladiators, I would try to find ones with a heel. Some office settings are more conservative than others. If most of the woman don't wear sandals or open toed shoes, opt for a high heel gladiator to give the look of being more dressed up. Also, go for a more neutral color so they don't draw attention away from the dress and to the fact that you are in fact, wearing sandals at work!

I tried to find an outfit that would fit many shapes and sizes. Some great stores, such as NY and Company and Talbot's carry a very wide range of sizes from petites to plus!

Here is a fun outfit that you can wear to work. The skirt is very girly with its bow-belt. And has a light blue color mixed in with the black and white checkered print. This blouse was made to be worn with long strands of pearls and pearl necklaces. Feel free to go a little crazy layering them! Right now JCrew has a lot of great pearl necklaces. I found this dress on Lulus.com. I fell in love! How great is this for summer? It looks so light and flowy. Perfect for a night out! I would add a long gold necklace, like the one shown, to complete the look. I can see it pairing well with nice flat sandals or heels!
