Pencil Skirts

I love Pencil Skirts. For me, they are so flattering. I wear them to work all the time. I have even worn them to interviews because I look awkward in most suits. I have even worn them out to nice dinners on the weekends before. They are very tasteful and are so classic! chances are, if you buy a pencil skirt or five, you will have them in your wardrobe for a few years. They haven't ever really gone out of style. There are so many out there to choose from right now. If you are like me, and can't get enough of them, I suggest getting some in different colors and materials. One just isn't enough!!

Shift Dresses

Shift dresses are all over the stores. They have a classic look and most of the time are pretty modest. This makes them great for work. Not all of them were made for work though. Some designers take a fun twist on the shift dress. Here is a small collection of combination of stunning shift dresses available now.

My Fall Must Haves!

Okay, we have 21 days left till it is officially Fall. So now is a good time to add some new items to your wardrobe. Here is a list of my personal must haves for this coming season.

I love cute ruffle tops rather than plain blouses. I think they pair great with all work pants and look great with simple skirts as well. And for a trendy weekend look, I pair them with jeans!

A Ruffle in Time Top - $42.99 Mod Cloth

Now that summer is coming to an end, I’m going to go back to jeans as my go to pant when not at work. I personally have a hard time finding jeans that fit my body type. I have a generous behind and a small waist. So most jeans gap out at the waist or are too small to get over my behind. One of my new go to brands of jeans is Joe’s Jeans. They have many different styles to compliment different body types.

Joe’s Jeans Honey Boot Leg - $167 Saks Fifth Avenue

A casual and comfy sweater or vest is always something I crave in the fall. I like this one because it will be warm, but not too warm. It will work great for those days that start out and end cool, but are warm from noon till late afternoon

Card-igan Catalog Vest - $34.99 Mod Cloth

Fall is one of my favorite seasons. I always feel like there is so much to do. From apple picking, to wine tasting, to hiking, etc. It’s not too cold, not too hot, and doesn’t rain like it does in the spring. In the summer I tend to wear a lot of dresses, where in the fall I’m all about being more casual. Having some great tee shirts and polos, like this one here, are a must for my wardrobe.

Polo Shirt - $85 Lacoste

A great dress that can be worn to work but will also work for a nice dinner out or can even be to a wedding. Friday evening weddings are becoming very popular. And Fall is the most popular wedding season. I personally have a couple Friday weddings to attend this fall, and with having to work during the day, having a dress like this will make it very easy for me to make a quick transition between work and leaving for the event.

Dress Side Story - $67.99 Mod Cloth

A sleek sexy dress like this is a must have for every season. It’s great for an evening out at a trendy lounge, and works great for those Saturday weddings!

Hotel Particulier Dress - $99.99 Mod Cloth

For this fall, I am craving some cute heels I can wear to work, but will also be used on the weekends when I dress up. I really like these heels from Lulus.
Zipper Platform Heel - $28.50 Lulus

I love cashmere sweaters. Just check the blend and make sure you are buying nice quality before purchasing Cashmere.
Cashmere V-Neck Sweater - $145 Jcrew

I have became a fan of sweater dresses last spring. I actually purchased this dress and I got to wear it a couple of times before summer came. I paired it with some cute boots and got many compliments! I'm hoping to add another sweater dress to my wardrobe this Fall!
Sweater Dress - $29.50 BodyC
I just really like clutches right now and want to add another to my wardrobe.

Linea Pelle clutch - $135 BlueFly

Pencil Skirts have such a classic and elegant look to them. And they transition well from season to season as it becomes more about the shoes and the top. Find one that fits you well and you will have it in your closet for many seasons to come!
Pencil Skirt - $59.50 Ann Taylor Loft

I love the skirt or dress with boots look. It’s been in style for a couple years now and I anticipate it will be back this fall. Get some cute tall boots like the ones below to get that look yourself!
ARNS Boots - $160 Aldo

Who doesn’t love bags? And what better excuse is there to get a new one than the beginning of a new season? I have a decent amount of plain bags already, so this fall I want to add something with a neat pattern and some pretty colors. But will still be neutral. I am enjoying this one from Anthropologie.
Tapestry Tote - $118 Anthropologie
